Who We Are
The Kingsville Independence Day Parade is a grassroots, volunteer-led celebration honoring America’s freedoms in a wholesome, family-friendly way. Presented by the Greater Kingsville Civic Association, Inc. and the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, the parade is entirely self-sustaining through the generous support of individuals, local businesses, advertisers, and corporate sponsors. Contributions include donations, parade booklet advertising, band sponsorships, and in-kind support.
Reestablished in 1980 by dedicated community members, the parade has since been planned and operated year-round by volunteers. Parade day begins at the triangle at Belair, Jerusalem, and Bradshaw Roads with a lively pre-parade show featuring local performers. The official program opens with the presentation of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem.
The parade showcases a wide range of participants, including marching bands, military units, antique vehicles, fire companies, school and scouting groups, equestrian units, civic and religious organizations, elected officials, political candidates, and local businesses. Many entries compete for cash prizes and trophies.
Each year’s event centers on a theme selected by a local elementary school student, who is honored as a special participant, and a respected community member is named Grand Marshal in recognition of longstanding service.
