GRAND MARSHAL
TERRY HEIL
Terry Heil was born and raised in Perry Hall, Md. before settling in Kingsville in the late seventies. He graduated from Perry Hall High School’s Auto Shop program and went directly into that field at a Gulf station in Kingsville, which is now the Van Dorn Pools building. He then worked at a shop in Perry Hall before coming back to work in Kingsville. He took over Kingsville Auto Repair which he has operated for over 41 years. He has a son and a daughter, and is the proud grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters, and is looking forward to a third coming in September. In the mid-eighties, he joined the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company because he wanted to help the community. He took numerous classes and became a firefighter, an EMT, a rescue specialist, a Lieutenant, and helped with many activities around the station such as apparatus driver training and vehicle maintenance. He was active in designing and converting an old fuel truck into Kingsville's first tanker, which was the largest in the county. He still remains a life member. He is an active member and officer of the Abingdon Elks Lodge, and enjoys his free time riding his motorcycle, playing shuffleboard and relaxing with family and friends.
